Have You Ever Wondered...

... Where do your friends get their design ideas from? 

Have you ever gone to a friend’s house and marvelled at their amazing home decor? Or perhaps you’ve been watching TV and fallen in love with a piece of set design for a character’s kitchen. The majority of us can’t afford to hire interior designers, so we have to find inspiration for ourselves.

But where, I hear you ask, are the best places to find inspiration?

The first source of inspiration that comes to mind is Pinterest. In my humble opinion, Pinterest is the best of all social media platforms. When I scroll through it, I feel inspired and motivated. You can find everything on Pinterest, from recipes to DIYs to decor ideas, which of course is what we’re looking for today. It might even surprise you to learn that we have our own Pinterest page where we save kitchen decor ideas, which you can find here.

It might surprise you to learn that another place I have been turning to for decor inspiration recently is TikTok. You’ve likely heard of TikTok as it is gaining popularity for its short, meme-worthy videos, but if you dig deep enough you will find that there are people with all kinds of styles, skill-sets and backgrounds posting their home decor videos. Check it out!

Lastly, you can’t go wrong with bookmarking and couple of interior design blogs and reading them on your lunch break. Some of our favourites include Ideal Home, Decoholic, Kate Young Design, and The Design Sheppard. Of course, with thousands of interior design bloggers out there, it’s worth you having a dig around for yourself to find design aesthetics that you love enough to showcase in your own home.
